Shiv Pratap Shukla to take oath as Telangana Governor Wednesday
As part of the changes, the current Governor of Telangana, Jishnu Dev Varma, has been transferred and appointed as the Governor of Maharashtra. Meanwhile, R. N. Ravi, who has been serving as the Governor of Tamil Nadu, has been appointed as the Governor of West Bengal.
Hyderabad: Shiv Pratap Shukla will take oath as the new Governor of Telangana on Wednesday. The appointment follows a recent reshuffle of governors ordered by the President of India.
As part of the changes, the current Governor of Telangana, Jishnu Dev Varma, has been transferred and appointed as the Governor of Maharashtra. Meanwhile, R. N. Ravi, who has been serving as the Governor of Tamil Nadu, has been appointed as the Governor of West Bengal.
The swearing-in of Shiv Pratap Shukla comes ahead of the state’s Budget session of the Telangana Legislative Assembly, which is scheduled to begin on March 16. On the opening day of the session, the new Governor will deliver the customary inaugural address to the Assembly.

Shiv Pratap Shukla, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, hails from Uttar Pradesh. He served as the Union Minister of State for Finance from 2017 to 2019 and was also a member of the Rajya Sabha.
Before this appointment, he had been serving as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh since February 2023.
