What Happened at the Suleman Nagar Hospital
According to the woman’s husband, Mohammad Ghouse, his wife underwent a C-section delivery at a private healthcare hospital in Suleman Nagar. Doctors initially told the family that the delivery was successful. However, within a few days, the woman began experiencing severe abdominal pain and skin rashes, raising concerns about post-surgical complications.
Scan Reveals Surgical Needle Left Inside
As the pain continued, the family got medical scans done, which reportedly revealed that a surgical needle had been left inside the patient’s stomach during the operation. The discovery shocked the family and raised serious questions about surgical safety and post-operative care at the hospital.
Multiple Surgeries, Infection Worsens
The family said the woman was shifted to the same hospital, where two surgeries were performed, but doctors were initially unable to remove the needle. She was later moved to Kingston Hospital, where the needle was finally removed after sustained efforts.
However, due to the delay, the woman developed a severe infection, which reportedly spread across her body. Doctors treating her have stated that her condition is critical, and the chances of recovery are low due to complications caused by infection.
Allegations Against Hospital Staff
Mohammad Ghouse alleged that the staff of the healthcare hospital stopped responding after the complication came to light. He claimed that phone calls to the hospital were either unanswered or disconnected. According to him, the negligence of doctors and hospital management directly led to the worsening condition of his wife, Syeda Bushra.
Family Demands Investigation
The family has urged health authorities to conduct a thorough and impartial probe into the incident and take strict action against those responsible. They said accountability is essential to prevent such incidents in the future.
Medical experts note that leaving surgical instruments inside a patient’s body is a serious violation of medical protocols and can be life-threatening if not detected early.
