Hyderabad: In a significant development, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met with AIMIM MLAs at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat. The meeting focused on development projects in the old city of Hyderabad.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy reportedly discussed development programs with Pro-tem Speaker Akbaruddin Owaisi and members of his party. They exchanged ideas about projects for the old city and the Musi River.
This marks the first time Reddy has met with AIMIM leaders from Greater Hyderabad since assuming office. Notably, the Congress party failed to win any seats in Greater Hyderabad in the recent assembly elections.
The meeting holds particular significance due to its timing, shortly after Reddy took the oath of office. His engagement with AIMIM, considered an ally of the incumbent BRS (the arch-rival of the Congress), is notable after his previous harsh criticisms of the party during the election campaign.
While initially planned to discuss development activities, the meeting has sparked political discussions due to Reddy’s prior stance towards AIMIM.
However, its significance lies in the potential for collaboration between two major political forces in Telangana, which could have a significant impact on the state’s future development.
In this meeting, in addition to Akbaruddin Owaisi, the members present included Charminar MLA Mir Zulfiquar Ali, Bahadurpura MLA Mohd Mubeen Ahmed, Yakhutpura MLA Mohd Jaffer Hussain Meraj, Nampally MLA Mohd Majid Hussain, Karwan MLA Mohd Kausar Mohiuddin, Council Member Mohd Rehmat Ali, and others.
