Telangana Governor Inaugurates IIED Cell at RGUKT Basar to Promote Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The Hon’ble Governor of Telangana, Shri Jishnu Dev Varma, on Monday virtually inaugurated the Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship Development (IIED) Cell at Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT), Basar.

On the occasion, the Governor announced financial support from his discretionary funds for the establishment of the IIED Cell at RGUKT Basar, underscoring the state’s commitment to nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship among rural youth.

Speaking during the virtual inauguration, Shri Jishnu Dev Varma highlighted that RGUKT, which was established to provide quality technical education to students from rural backgrounds, is taking a significant step forward through the IIED Cell by fostering young innovators and future entrepreneurs.

The Governor explained that the newly launched IIED Cell will provide mentorship, modern infrastructure, industry linkages, and startup support, particularly focusing on solutions in key sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, and sustainability.

Encouraging students to pursue innovation with a strong ethical foundation, he emphasized the importance of inclusive growth and socially responsible entrepreneurship. Expressing confidence in the institution’s potential, the Governor said RGUKT Basar is well-positioned to emerge as a major innovation hub contributing to the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’.

He further assured that the Raj Bhavan would extend all possible support to strengthen the IIED Cell and help it achieve its objectives in empowering students and promoting startup culture.

The inauguration marks a major milestone for RGUKT Basar in its journey towards becoming a center of excellence in innovation-driven education and entrepreneurship.
