Telangana Govt Deposits ₹1.40 Lakh Crore to Farmers, T Nageswara Rao Launches Rythu Varotsavalu

In Tandur, the Telangana government has deposited ₹1.40 lakh crore into farmers’ accounts to strengthen them economically, as Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao participated in the Rythu Varotsavalu (Farmers’ Festival) programme held at SVR Function Hall. The event, conducted under the aegis of the Agriculture Department as part of the 99-day Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika initiative, is ongoing across the district until May 9.

Rythu Varotsavalu Launched Under 99-Day Governance Initiative

The programme was held on Monday at SVR Function Hall in Tandur, Vikarabad district. Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao attended as the chief guest and addressed the gathering.

Addressing farmers, the Minister said that the State Government has deposited ₹1.40 lakh crore into farmers’ accounts to strengthen them economically.

He also credited A. Revanth Reddy for sanctioning ₹90 crore for the Kothapally project.

Focus on Organic Farming and Soil Health

The Minister warned that agricultural land may lose productivity if farmers do not take proactive steps.

He advised:

• Adoption of low-investment, high-yield farming
• Shift toward organic cultivation
• Protection of soil health through natural farming

He added that scientists will guide farmers on soil conservation practices to safeguard public health.

Telangana Among Top Producers, Paddy Procurement in Large Quantities

The Minister stated:

• Maize production in Telangana ranges between 40,000 to 50,000 quintals
• Telangana farmers are among the highest producers in India
• The government is procuring paddy in large quantities

He urged farmers to gain awareness about:

• Soil health management
• Balanced fertilizer usage
• Natural farming methods

TG Online App Launched, Departmental Stalls Inspected

Along with farmer Lavanya Reddy, the Minister launched the TG Online app. He also inspected stalls set up by:

• Agriculture Department
• Horticulture Department
• Fisheries Department

Leaders Stress Importance of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare

B Manohar Reddy stated that farmers are the backbone of the nation and agriculture is not a burden but a celebration.

He said:

• Efforts are being made to strengthen agriculture under the Minister’s leadership
• Farmers should adopt natural farming and follow expert guidance
• ₹14,000 crore has been sanctioned for market development
• An oil palm company has been allotted to the district

He also highlighted the importance of Tandur red gram and requested the establishment of a Red Gram Board.

Awareness Campaign Until May 9, Says Collector Deepak Tiwari

District Collector Deepak Tiwari said that awareness will be created among farmers until May 9 on schemes such as:

• Rythu Bandhu
• Rythu Bima
• Other welfare and development initiatives

He added that farmers’ feedback and suggestions will also be collected.
