Telangana: RTC Bus from Asifabad Depot Plunges into River, Several Injured

The incident occurred when the bus was travelling from Adilabad to Asifabad. According to preliminary reports, the accident took place near Shyampur village in Utnoor mandal when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle. The bus veered off the bridge and plunged into the river below.
Passengers on board sustained injuries in the mishap. Upon receiving information about the accident, local residents rushed to the spot and began rescue operations. They promptly alerted emergency services, and 108 ambulances were dispatched to the scene. The injured were shifted to the Government Hospital in Utnoor for treatment.

Police officials also reached the site soon after the incident and initiated an inquiry into the circumstances leading to the crash.
Asifabad depot manager Raj Shekhar stated that a detailed investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the accident. “We are examining whether the mishap was due to a technical fault in the vehicle or driver negligence,” he said.
Authorities are currently verifying the identities of the injured passengers and assessing their medical condition. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
