Telangana Transport Minister flags off 80 new TSRTC buses in Hyderabad
Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar inaugurated 80 new buses, including 30 Express buses, 30 Rajdhani AC buses, and 20 Lahari sleeper cum seater (non-AC) buses of the State-owned RTC at the Ambedkar statue on NTR Marg on Saturday.
Hyderabad: Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar inaugurated 80 new buses, including 30 Express buses, 30 Rajdhani AC buses, and 20 Lahari sleeper cum seater (non-AC) buses of the State-owned RTC at the Ambedkar statue on NTR Marg on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar highlighted under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s leadership, a ground-breaking decision has been made to provide free bus travel to women, resulting in 6 crore women benefiting from the Mahalakshmi scheme.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to protect the RTC organization and the welfare of its workers, ensuring all dues will be paid in instalments.
Stating that 100 per cent occupancy has been achieved, the Minister promised to improve services for passengers.
He pledged measures to enhance the safety of women at RTC bus stands and to uphold law and order.
Ponnam announced plans to eliminate RTC’s losses, with upcoming initiatives, including the introduction of 1000 electric buses by CM Revanth Reddy.
The event was attended by GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, TSRTC MD Sajjanar, Hyderabad Police Commissioner Srinivas Reddy, and officials from RTC and the Transport Department.
