Telangana’s Ritesh Maddukuri Shines at FIDE World School Chess Championship 2025

Hyderabad: Ritesh Maddukuri, a Commonwealth Silver Medallist from Telangana, represented India at the FIDE World School Chess Championship 2025, held from March 19th to 29th in Vrnjacka Banja, Serbia. Competing in the Under-13 category, the tournament featured approximately 500 students from 43 countries worldwide.

Ritesh delivered an impressive performance, securing 4th place in the Under-13 Open category and gaining 102 ELO points. His achievements extended beyond the classical format, as he also earned 295 ELO points in Blitz and 100 ELO points in Rapid during the EMEA FIDE rating tournaments.
