Telangana’s Suhas Preetham Mylari Strikes Gold in Men’s 50m Backstroke at Junior Nationals
Suhas Preetham Mylari emerged ahead of Karnataka’s Aryan Abhijit Patil, who finished second with a timing of 27.54 seconds, while Aman Abhijit Sungan, also from Karnataka, secured the bronze medal with a timing of 27.57 seconds.

Bhubaneswar, Odisha: Telangana’s young swimming sensation Suhas Preetham Mylari has made the state proud by winning the gold medal in the Men’s 50-metre Backstroke at the 52nd Junior National Aquatic Championship 2026 being held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Suhas produced an impressive performance in the final, clocking 26.95 seconds to finish at the top of the podium. His victory has earned Telangana its second gold medal at the championship.
Suhas Preetham Mylari emerged ahead of Karnataka’s Aryan Abhijit Patil, who finished second with a timing of 27.54 seconds, while Aman Abhijit Sungan, also from Karnataka, secured the bronze medal with a timing of 27.57 seconds.
Suhas has been undergoing training at Gachibowli Stadium under the Sports Authority of Telangana, also known as SATG, under the guidance of Swim Coach Ayush Yadav.
This gold medal is another significant milestone in Suhas Preetham Mylari’s young sporting career and further establishes him as one of Telangana’s promising swimming talents.
The achievement also highlights the growing focus on high-performance swimming and the development of young sporting talent in Telangana.
The Sports Authority of Telangana and Telangana Swimming Association congratulated Suhas Preetham Mylari, Coach Ayush Yadav and the entire support team for the outstanding achievement and wished the young swimmer continued success in the upcoming competitions.
