Telangana’s Suhas Wins Gold, Varshith Bags Bronze at SGFI National Swimming Championship

Telangana swimmers delivered an impressive performance at the 69th SGFI National Swimming Championship 2025–26, being held from November 30 to December 5 at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Swimming Stadium in the capital.

New Delhi: Telangana swimmers delivered an impressive performance at the 69th SGFI National Swimming Championship 2025–26, being held from November 30 to December 5 at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Swimming Stadium in the capital.

In the Under-19 Boys 100m Backstroke, Mylari Suhas Preetham clinched the gold medal, clocking an outstanding 57.73 seconds. Karnataka swimmers Aman Abhijit Sungar and V.S. Diganth secured the second and third positions with timings of 59.59 seconds and 1:01.03, respectively.

Telangana earned another podium finish in the Under-19 Boys 200m Individual Medley, where Dhulipudi Varshith claimed the bronze, completing the race in 2:12.19 seconds. The event witnessed a thrilling finish, with Soham Mondal (CBSE) winning gold at 2:12.14 seconds, narrowly edging out B. Sreehari (Kerala), who took silver at 2:12.15 seconds.

The strong performances by Suhas and Varshith have added to Telangana’s growing prominence in national swimming competitions.
