Hyderabad: In a major relief for commuters, TGSRTC has announced a big expansion plan to improve public transport across Telangana. As part of this initiative, 13 new bus stations will be constructed, several existing bus stands will be modernised, and new bus depots are being built to extend connectivity to underserved regions.

TGSRTC Expansion to Improve Connectivity

With bus facilities still limited in some parts of the state, TGSRTC is stepping up efforts to ensure better and wider bus services. Once the new bus stations become operational, local residents will benefit from easier and more reliable transportation to towns, mandals, and tourist destinations.

Officials confirmed that work has already begun on several projects, while others are in the tendering stage.

Bus Depot Construction in Full Swing

TGSRTC is also strengthening its infrastructure by building new depots:

Peddapalli Bus Depot

  • Being constructed at a cost of ₹11.01 crore
  • Old structures have been demolished
  • Yard levelling and new construction work underway
  • Work progressing at a rapid pace

Ettur Nagaram Bus Depot

  • Spread over 3.79 acres
  • Project cost: ₹5.91 crore
  • Target to start operations by October this year
  • Will improve bus access to:
    • Bogatha Falls
    • Laknavaram
    • Medaram
    • Tadvai
    • Eturunagaram

This depot is expected to significantly benefit pilgrims and tourists visiting these areas.

List of New Bus Stations in Telangana

According to TGSRTC, new bus stations are planned or under construction in the following locations:

  • Nizamabad
  • Vemulawada
  • Nagarkurnool
  • Huzurnagar
  • Kodada
  • Manthani
  • Mulugu
  • Kaleshwaram
  • Madhira
  • Mahabubnagar
  • Gangadhara
  • Regonda
  • Madgul

These stations will help connect district headquarters, towns, and rural regions more efficiently.

Modern Facilities at New Bus Stations

The new bus stations are being designed with state-of-the-art facilities, including:

  • Passenger-friendly waiting areas
  • Improved platforms and parking
  • Better safety and accessibility

Kodada Bus Station Highlights

  • Construction cost: ₹16.89 crore
  • Located on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada National Highway
  • Designed as a major transit hub

Officials also revealed that 7 new bus stations are currently in the tendering stage.
