Tolichowki Robbery Case Solved: Caretaker Arrested, Two Mobile Phones and Ornaments Recovered

Tolichowki Police Station, Hyderabad, detected a robbery case and apprehended one male accused in connection with the crime. Police recovered two mobile phones, four artificial bangles, and a broken black-bead chain of gold ornaments with a total property value of Rs 18,000. The accused, identified as Punna Kumara Swamy, was arrested at Pot Market, Secunderabad, and is being proceeded against in the case registered as Crime No. 289/2026 under Section 309(6) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Robbery Complaint Filed by 77-Year-Old Woman in Tolichowki
According to police, the case originated from a complaint lodged by Asha Saxena, wife of Dr. Anand Swaroop Saxena, aged 77 years, resident of Aditya Nagar, Tolichowki, Hyderabad.
Police stated that the complainant had engaged a caretaker through Shyam Home Care Services.
The incident allegedly occurred on 31-05-2026 at about 4:00 PM. According to the complaint, after ensuring that her husband was resting in his room, Asha Saxena went to her room to take rest.
During that time, the caretaker, Punna Kumara Swamy, allegedly attempted to assault her by wrapping a bed sheet around her neck. When she resisted and raised objections, he allegedly attacked her physically by hitting her on her back and chest with his hands.
Police said the accused then allegedly robbed:
- One Samsung mobile phone (Mobile No. 7330910091)
- One Samsung Galaxy F15 5G mobile phone
- Four artificial bangles worn by the complainant
- One black-bead chain
Tolichowki Police Arrest Accused at Secunderabad
Police said that based on credible information, the accused was apprehended at Pot Market, Secunderabad, where he allegedly attempted to sell the stolen property and was planning to flee to his native place in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh.

Police recovered the following property from the accused:
- Samsung mobile phone
- Samsung Galaxy F15 5G
- Four artificial bangles and black-bead chain
- Jio keypad mobile phone (pertaining to the accused person)
The total value of the recovered property was stated to be Rs 18,000.

Previous Criminal History of the Accused
Police stated that the accused was previously involved in similar property theft cases and has a criminal background.
According to the press note, he was convicted for five years in 2017 for harassing his wife, who later died by suicide in her house.
Police further stated that he later married a woman named Radhamma, a native of Srikakulam, changed his Aadhaar Card address to Srikakulam, and allegedly resumed committing property offences to earn easy money for daily needs.
