Dr. Narendranath, Organising Chairman of the conference and Clinical Director of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at KIMS Group of Hospitals, said that cases of peripheral vascular diseases are rising due to factors such as diabetes, smoking, hypertension and increasingly sedentary lifestyles.

He explained that these conditions reduce blood flow to the legs and feet, often causing pain while walking and wounds that fail to heal. In severe cases, delayed treatment can lead to complications requiring amputation.

The conference features a scientific programme including academic sessions, panel discussions and case-based deliberations on advanced treatment methods. Live demonstrations are also being conducted in the endovascular suite and operation theatres, offering valuable learning opportunities for young doctors and medical residents.

During the workshop at KIMS Hospitals, experts will demonstrate complex vascular surgeries, open bypass procedures and advanced endovascular interventions. Participants will also receive simulation-based hands-on training.

Organisers said such conferences help strengthen collaboration among vascular specialists while promoting awareness of modern treatment options for peripheral vascular diseases, ultimately improving patient care.
