Two Separate City Incidents Claim Six Lives, Including Four Children”

Hyderabad: As many as six persons, including four children, died on Friday in two separate tragic incidents that took place in the State capital.

In the first incident, housewife allegedly killed her two children under the Borabanda police station limits by giving them poison and then committed suicide in Madhuranagar area of Borabanda division on Friday morning.

The woman was identified as Jyothi. She was married to one Vijay from Hyderabad. The couple has two children. Jyothi was working at a government school in Banjara Hills.

Quarrels began in their lives, which lasted for a few days. Every day, the husband Vinay and his wife Jyothi used to get upset with frequent quarrels. They also used to get normal after their face-off.

On Friday morning, when Jyothi saw her husband going out, she poisoned her two children Arjun (4) and Aditya (2) to death. Later, she also hanged herself to death. Vijay was shocked to see his wife Jyothi and children lying in motionless manner after returning home.

He also attempted suicide later unable to bear the pain. However, the locals, who were present there, rescued Vijay. The police registered a case and took up investigation. The police and locals shifted the bodies to a hospital for post-mortem.

Two girls fed sleeping pills

In the second incident that took place under Bowenpally police station limits on Friday, a man administered sleeping pills to his two daughters. He also later committed suicide.

The incident took place at Bhavani Nagar in Old Bowenpally. The man was identified as Srikanta Chari, a local resident, who runs a silver business and supports the family.

His two daughters were identified as Sravati (8) and Shravya (7). The police concluded that Chari took to the extreme step due to family disputes.
