Total Candidates Selected for Civil Services
As per the UPSC Civil Services Final Result 2025, 958 candidates have been recommended for appointment to various services under the Government of India.
Service-wise Allocation
- 180 candidates selected for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS)
- 55 candidates selected for the Indian Foreign Service (IFS)
- 150 candidates selected for the Indian Police Service (IPS)
The remaining candidates will be allocated to Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ Central Services.
Reservation Details
Out of the total IAS posts:
- 74 posts are unreserved
- 28 reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC)
- 13 reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST)
- 47 reserved for Other Backward Classes (OBC)
- 18 reserved for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)
Additionally, 42 posts have been allotted for candidates in the PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) category.
UPSC Civil Services Selection Process
The UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) is conducted in three stages:
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination
- Personality Test (Interview)
Candidates must successfully clear all stages to be included in the UPSC Civil Services Final Result 2025 merit list.
The Preliminary exam was conducted earlier in the year, followed by the Mains examination in August 2025. After the written tests, 2,736 candidates were shortlisted for the final interview round, which concluded earlier this year.
Marks to Be Released Soon
The Union Public Service Commission will soon upload the detailed marks of candidates on its official website. Aspirants who appeared for the exam will be able to check their individual marks within 15 days of the result declaration.
