Woman Killed in Road Accident After Being Dragged by Vehicle in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A woman lost her life in a tragic road accident late Saturday night after a speeding DCM vehicle rammed into a scooter and allegedly dragged it for nearly five kilometres between Madhapur and Jubilee Hills, police said.

According to officials, the incident occurred around midnight near Mindspace under the jurisdiction of the Madhapur Police Station. The DCM vehicle reportedly hit a scooter that was moving ahead on the road. Following the collision, the scooter got stuck under the vehicle, but the driver failed to stop and continued driving for several kilometres.

Eyewitnesses who noticed the incident chased the vehicle and eventually managed to stop it. However, the driver fled the scene, while his associate was apprehended by the public and later handed over to the police.

Both women riding the scooter sustained severe injuries and were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Doctors later confirmed that one of the victims succumbed to her injuries.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. Efforts are underway to trace and arrest the absconding driver.
