Beirut: Two Hezbollah fighters were killed, and three civilians were injured on Sunday in confrontations at the Lebanese Israeli border, Lebanese military sources told Xinhua.

The sources said Israeli drones and warplanes carried out 11 raids on southern villages and towns, and attacked for the first time a village about 40 kilometers away from the borderline, destroying a house.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah claimed to have attacked gatherings of Israeli soldiers across the border, wounding some soldiers.

The Lebanon-Israel border witnessed increased tension since Oct. 8 after the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets toward Israel in support of the Hamas attacks on Israel the previous day, prompting Israel to respond by firing heavy artillery toward southeastern Lebanon

The confrontations between Hezbollah and Israel killed 157 on the Lebanese side, including 110 Hezbollah members, a Lebanese army soldier, one member of the Amal Movement, 16 members of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, and 29 civilians, according to security sources.
