The state government on Friday appointed four MLAs as government whips.

Hyderabad: The state government on Friday appointed four MLAs as government whips.

The government issued orders appointing Dharmapuri MLA Adluri Laxman Kumar, Vemulawada MLA Adi Srinivas, Alair MLA B. Ailaiah, and Dornakal MLA Ramachandru Nayak as whips.

The chief whip is yet to be announced.

Of the four whips appointed, two are MLAs—Srinivas and Laxman—from the erstwhile Karimnagar district, and both are first-time legislators.

On the other hand, two MLAs from Erstwhile Karimnagar district—Duddilla Sridhar Babu (Manthani) and Ponnam Prabhakar (Husnabad)—have already got berths in Revanth Reddy’s Cabinet.
