HYDRAA Stops Big Encroachments, Protects 23 Acres of ₹2,500 Crore Government Land in Neknampur

In a strong action against illegal land grabbing, HYDRAA has protected 23.16 acres of valuable government land in Neknampur, one of the most expensive IT corridor areas near Hyderabad. The land, estimated to be worth over ₹2,500 crore, has been secured by removing encroachments and installing fencing and official HYDRAA boards.

The action has brought major relief to local residents, who had raised complaints about powerful individuals attempting to grab public land by using common people as fronts.

HYDRAA Secures High-Value Government Land in Neknampur

The protected land is located in Survey No. 20 of Neknampur village, under Gandipet mandal in Rangareddy district. Following complaints from locals that the land was facing illegal occupation, HYDRAA stepped in and initiated action.

As part of the operation:

• Illegal boundary walls and sheds were demolished
• Some structures were flattened earlier
• Remaining encroachments were removed on Monday
• Fencing was immediately installed around the entire 23.16 acres
• HYDRAA boards were erected declaring it as government land

Field-Level Inquiry Ordered by HYDRAA Commissioner

Acting on the instructions of HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath, the authority conducted a detailed field-level inquiry in coordination with revenue and municipal officials.

After verifying revenue records and ground facts, officials confirmed that the land is fully classified as government property. Based on this confirmation, HYDRAA cleared all encroachments and secured the land.

Fake Records and Legal Misuse Exposed

Officials revealed that despite the land being government-owned as per revenue records, a person named Mohammed Ibrahim allegedly created fake documents claiming that he had purchased the land from Pakala Pochayya.

Key points revealed during the probe:

• Attempts were made to obtain passbooks through court proceedings
• Revenue officials, acting on court directions, conducted verification
• The land was confirmed as government land and the same was reported to the court
• A case was registered at Narsingi Police Station against Mohammed Ibrahim for creating forged records

It was also noted that while fake purchase claims were dated back to 1975, members of the Pakala Pochayya family began claiming rights over the same land in 2019, further complicating the issue.

Locals Thank HYDRAA, Demand Public Use of Land

Local residents expressed relief after HYDRAA’s decisive action and thanked the authority for saving highly valuable public land from encroachment.

Residents demanded that:

• The land be developed as open spaces and green zones
• Urban planning norms be strictly followed
• Such lands be preserved for public benefit

They also thanked HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath and appreciated the state government for setting up a strong system like HYDRAA to protect government property.

HYDRAA officials said the Neknampur operation sends a clear message that government land will be protected wherever encroachments are found, irrespective of the influence or value involved.
