Al-Aqsa Mosque Enters Extremely Dangerous Phase, Sheikh Ekrima Sabri Warns the World
Al-Aqsa Mosque has entered an extremely dangerous phase, warns Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, citing extremist policies, home demolitions, and lack of global action in Jerusalem.

The sacred Al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy city of Jerusalem have entered an extremely dangerous and decisive phase, warned Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, head of the Supreme Islamic Council in occupied Jerusalem. He cautioned that unchecked extremist policies and the absence of effective global intervention are placing Al-Aqsa Mosque under unprecedented threat.

Jerusalem Facing a Deeply Alarming Situation
Speaking to journalists, Sheikh Ekrima Sabri said that Jerusalem is going through a painful and highly concerning period. He alleged that Israel’s far-right leadership is deliberately working to undermine the status of Al-Aqsa Mosque and alter the historical and religious identity of Jerusalem.
According to him, these actions are not isolated incidents but part of a broader policy targeting the city and its Islamic heritage.
Palestinians Paying Heavy Price for Defending Al-Aqsa
Sheikh Sabri stated that Palestinian residents of Jerusalem are paying a heavy price for defending Al-Aqsa Mosque, while facing the situation almost alone.
Key concerns highlighted include:
- Lack of meaningful international intervention
- Silence and inaction from the global community
- Increasing pressure on Jerusalem’s Palestinian population
He expressed deep regret that despite clear violations, no effective global action is being taken.
Home Demolitions and Forced Displacement Intensify
The Islamic leader pointed out that demolition of Palestinian homes, forced evictions, and displacement of families have sharply increased in recent times.
He said these actions are being carried out with the support and encouragement of extremist Jewish groups that hold influence within the Israeli government.
Extremist Groups Target Jerusalem Residents and Holy Sites
Sheikh Ekrima Sabri accused extremist groups of:
- Direct involvement in home demolitions
- Harassment and violence against Jerusalem residents
- Promoting hate and intimidation
- Repeated incursions and desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque
He said these repeated violations form part of an organised and systematic campaign.
‘A Planned War Against Palestinian Existence’
Calling the situation a planned and organised war, Sheikh Sabri warned that the goal is to erase Palestinian presence from Jerusalem and occupied land. He stressed that all these violations are happening openly before the world yet remain largely unchecked.
Lack of Accountability Encouraging Further Violations
In his concluding warning, Sheikh Ekrima Sabri said that the absence of accountability and global pressure is emboldening Israeli authorities and extremist groups even further.
As a result, Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque now face extraordinary and unprecedented dangers, he cautioned, urging the international community to act before the situation worsens.
