Congress and BJP Have Done Nothing for Telangana: KTR
KTR says Congress and BJP have done nothing for Telangana while campaigning in Vemulawada, urging voters to reject both parties in the upcoming municipal elections.

BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Friday alleged that neither the Congress nor the BJP has done anything meaningful for Telangana, accusing both parties of deceiving the people. He made these remarks while campaigning for the municipal elections in Vemulawada town of Rajanna Sircilla district.

KTR Attacks Congress Over ‘False Promises’
Addressing a public meeting, KTR strongly criticised the Congress-led state government, alleging that it came to power by making false promises and later failed to deliver. He said the people of Telangana were being misled and deceived after the elections.
KTR questioned whether the Congress government had implemented even one of the six guarantees promised to the public before the elections.
Allegations Against Vemulawada MLA
KTR referred to Adi Srinivas, the Vemulawada MLA, stating that he had given a written promise on bond paper to implement all six guarantees within 100 days. KTR displayed the bond paper during the meeting and alleged that the MLA failed to honour his commitment.
He claimed that after winning the election, the MLA neglected both development works and the promises made to voters, and questioned what tangible work had been done for the Vemulawada constituency.
Warning to Voters in Municipal Elections
KTR warned that if people vote for the Congress party again in the municipal elections despite what he called betrayals and broken promises, the government would assume that the public approves its actions.
He said:
- Voting against Congress is necessary to show public anger
- Only electoral defeat will push Congress to act on its promises
- Municipal elections are a message to the ruling government
BJP Also Failed Telangana: KTR
Turning his criticism towards the BJP, KTR alleged that the central government has not extended any meaningful benefits to Telangana. He said BJP leaders who represented the region failed to deliver development.
KTR accused the BJP of reviving old promises during every election, including claims made by Narendra Modi, which he alleged were never fulfilled. He also criticised the BJP for using religion and caste as tools to influence voters.
Call to Support BRS and KCR
KTR urged voters not to be misled by either Congress or BJP and asked them to support the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). He said the municipal elections should mark the beginning of efforts to bring K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) back as Chief Minister.
He stated that only a strong verdict against Congress would force the government to address public issues and fulfil its commitments.
Leaders Present at Campaign
Several BRS leaders, including municipal candidates and constituency in-charge Chalmeda Lakshminarasimha Rao, were present during the campaign programme in Vemulawada.
