RPF Head Constable Saves Passenger from Moving Train at Vijayawada Railway Station

According to railway officials, the incident occurred on Platform No. 6 after the Cherlapally–Shalimar East Coast Express arrived at the station. As passengers boarded, the train began to move out of the platform.

Hyderabad: An alert Railway Protection Force (RPF) head constable saved the life of a passenger who nearly slipped under a moving train at Vijayawada Railway Station in Andhra Pradesh.

According to railway officials, the incident occurred on Platform No. 6 after the Cherlapally–Shalimar East Coast Express arrived at the station. As passengers boarded, the train began to move out of the platform.

At that moment, a passenger rushed towards the moving train in an attempt to board it. However, he suddenly lost his balance and slipped, narrowly escaping a potentially fatal accident.

RPF Head Constable Narsahma Rao, who was on duty at the platform, reacted swiftly. He immediately pulled the emergency chain to stop the train, preventing a serious mishap. Thanks to his timely action, the passenger was rescued safely and was able to continue his journey with his family.

The South Central Railway shared a video of the incident on social media, praising the constable’s alertness and dedication to duty.

Railway authorities once again urged passengers not to attempt boarding or deboarding moving trains, emphasizing that such actions can lead to serious accidents.
