HMWSSB Intensifies Inspections Across Hyderabad

As part of the drive:

  • Enforcement teams conducted inspections for two consecutive days
  • Focus was on households illegally attaching electric motors directly to water pipelines
  • Such practices were found to disrupt water pressure and deprive other consumers

9 Illegal Motors Seized in Hyder Nagar Ward

On Tuesday morning, officials from:

  • Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Division-22

conducted inspections in:

  • Hyder Nagar ward

During water supply hours, they:

  • Identified and seized 9 illegal motors connected to pipelines

Night Vigilance Drive: 13 More Motors Confiscated

Later in the evening:

  • Time: 8 pm to 11 pm
  • A vigilance team, along with the concerned manager, carried out surprise checks

Areas covered:

  • Gayatri Nagar Colony
  • Jyothi Nagar Colony
  • Gayatri Nagar Indoor Stadium Colony

During this drive:

  • 13 more illegal motors were confiscated

Strict Action and Penalties Announced

Authorities issued a clear warning:

  • Consumers using motors illegally will face strict action under HMWSSB regulations
  • Motors will be seized immediately
  • Repeat offenders will be fined Rs 5,000 and booked

Public Advisory Issued by Water Board

The HMWSSB urged residents:

  • Not to install motors on water taps
  • To report low pressure or supply issues to:
    • Local Manager
    • Deputy General Manager (DGM)
    • General Manager (GM)
