Hyderabad Task Force Seizes 825 Kg Adulterated Paneer; DCP Warns of Strict Action Against Violators

In a major crackdown on the adulterated paneer racket, Hyderabad Task Force police conducted surprise inspections and seized 825 kilograms of adulterated paneer during recent raids across the city. The inspections were carried out at 45 food outlets and 8 manufacturing units, following allegations that fake paneer was being sold in the market under misleading labels.

According to Vaibhav Gaikwad Raghunath, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner Task Force, Hyderabad, the seized paneer was allegedly being marketed as “Fresh Paneer” and “Premium Paneer” to deceive customers. The investigation is ongoing and authorities have warned of strict legal action against those violating regulations.

Adulterated Paneer Racket Under Scanner

Task Force police launched intensive inspections as part of a crackdown on the adulterated paneer business operating in Hyderabad.

Key findings from the inspections include:

  • 825 kg of adulterated paneer seized
  • Inspections conducted at 45 outlets
  • Inspections conducted at 8 manufacturing units
  • Products allegedly sold in the market as paneer were identified as “Cheese Analog”
  • Traders allegedly sold the products under the labels “Fresh Paneer” and “Premium Paneer”
  • Supplies of suspected fake paneer were allegedly sourced from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad Task Force Finds Serious Violations

Officials found that the products were allegedly being sold without:

  • FSSAI licences
  • Mandatory labels
  • Expiry dates

According to the Task Force, the business was being carried out secretly despite the absence of mandatory regulatory requirements.

Synthetic Milk, Starch and Hazardous Chemicals Detected

During inspections, authorities allegedly identified the presence of:

  • Starch-based substances
  • Low-quality synthetic milk
  • Hazardous chemicals

Officials stated that the suspected adulterated paneer did not meet expected food quality standards.

Health Risks Linked to Adulterated Paneer

Police warned that consumption of such fake paneer may pose serious health risks.

According to officials, eating the adulterated paneer may lead to:

  • Food poisoning
  • Allergic reactions

Authorities urged consumers to remain cautious while purchasing paneer products.

DCP Vaibhav Gaikwad Issues Public Advisory

DCP Vaibhav Gaikwad Raghunath, IPS, advised citizens to purchase paneer only from licensed vendors.

Police also advised consumers to:

  • Buy paneer only from businesses holding valid licences
  • Avoid purchasing paneer sold loosely without proper packaging and identification

The DCP warned that strict legal action will be taken against those found violating the rules and regulations.
