In a major crackdown on food adulteration and unsafe food practices, the Hyderabad Food Adulteration Surveillance Team (H-FAST), along with the Food Safety Officer (FSO), conducted a surprise raid on an unlicensed fast-food godown operating under the limits of Hussainialam Police Station in Charminar.

Acting on credible information, the team inspected the premises of M/s Al Akbar Fast Food and Godown, located at New Laad Bazar, Panch Mohalla, Charminar. During the inspection, officials found that food items were being prepared and stored under extremely unhygienic and hazardous conditions, posing a serious threat to public health.
Two persons responsible for running the illegal operations were apprehended. A case has been registered at Hussainialam Police Station under relevant provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and other applicable laws. The accused persons and seized material have been handed over to the Station House Officer for further legal action.
Major Violations Found at M/s Al Akbar Fast Food and Godown
Officials reported several serious violations during the raid, including:
- Operation without a mandatory FSSAI licence.
- Use of prohibited/artificial food colours namely MSK Lion Green and Raspberry Red.
- Reuse of stale and hazardous cooking oil.
- Absence of water analysis certification and quality control measures.
- Gross unhygienic conditions and lack of pest control.
According to the inspection team, these violations posed significant risks to consumers and public health.
Seizure Details: 110 Kg Fried Chicken, Oil and Chemical Colours Confiscated
During the operation, the following items were seized:
- Approximately 110 kg of prepared fried chicken.
- 6 tins of loose cooking oil, each containing 15 litres.
- Artificial chemical food colours.
The seized material was handed over to police authorities for further legal proceedings.

Authorities warned that consumption of adulterated and unhygienic food may result in:
- Food poisoning, vomiting and diarrhea.

A case has been registered at Hussainialam Police Station under relevant provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, along with other applicable laws. The investigation and legal process are ongoing.
The accused persons and seized food materials have been handed over to the Station House Officer, Hussainialam Police Station, for further action.
