EThames Business School Becomes Telangana’s First AI-Native Business School

EThames Business School (EBS), one of Hyderabad’s leading management institutions, has announced its transformation into Telangana’s first AI-Native Business School, marking a significant step towards integrating Artificial Intelligence into higher education.

Hyderabad: EThames Business School (EBS), one of Hyderabad’s leading management institutions, has announced its transformation into Telangana’s first AI-Native Business School, marking a significant step towards integrating Artificial Intelligence into higher education.

The announcement was made during a special event held at the institution’s campus, attended by more than 200 students, faculty members, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovation ecosystem partners.

Under the new AI-Native framework, Artificial Intelligence will be embedded across all aspects of the institution, including teaching, learning, research, innovation, industry engagement, and student development.

A highlight of the event was a unique skit titled “AI Tools Speak, Humans Decide,” in which characters representing popular AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Copilot, and Grok competed to convince students to choose them. The performance concluded with faculty members emphasizing the importance of responsible AI use, critical thinking, and ensuring that Artificial Intelligence complements rather than replaces human intelligence.

Students and faculty members also took pledges to use AI responsibly, ethically, and professionally. Certificates were awarded to participants who completed the institution’s AI-Native transformation programme, while a commemorative cake-cutting ceremony marked the milestone.

Speaking on the occasion, EThames Business School Chairman Kali Prasad Gadiraju said the institution’s AI transformation journey began more than a year ago.

“This is not merely the launch of a new initiative. It is our response to one of the most significant transformations in human history. Educational institutions have traditionally prepared students for the world of work, but today the world of work is changing faster than education itself,” he said.

Drawing a parallel with the rise of computer literacy in the 1990s, Gadiraju said AI literacy has now become an essential skill. He emphasized that AI should be used to enhance learning and thinking rather than replace them.

“AI can help students learn faster, understand deeper, research better, and create more effectively. At EThames, we believe AI should amplify thinking and accelerate learning,” he added.

V.V. Laxmi Narayana, IPS (Retd.) and Chief Transformation Officer of EThames Business School, described Artificial Intelligence as the next major technological revolution influencing every sector, including education, healthcare, finance, manufacturing, governance, and media.

Addressing concerns over job displacement, he said technological advancements have historically transformed jobs rather than eliminated human potential.

“AI may replace certain jobs, but it will not replace capable human beings. The future belongs to lifelong learners who continuously adapt and upgrade their skills,” he said.

Joining the event virtually as Guest of Honour, Dr. Sandeep Kumar Shukla, Director of IIIT Hyderabad, praised the initiative and stressed the need for educational institutions to equip students with the ability to work effectively alongside AI while maintaining critical thinking and responsible innovation.

Dr. Raghavendra Hunasgi, Venture Investor and CEO of String Metaverse, described EThames as a potential laboratory for AI innovation where traditional teaching methods could evolve into a more intelligent and adaptive learning ecosystem.

Murali Bukkapatnam, Former Chairman of the Global Board of Trustees of TiE, said the institution’s initiative was ultimately about empowering people rather than technology.

“A school is not its machines. A company is not its algorithms. The future will always be about people. By building Telangana’s first AI-Native Business School, EThames is helping create a more human future,” he said.

HYSEA President Bipin Chandra Pendyala highlighted the difference between students who merely study AI and those who become AI-Native by integrating AI into their learning, collaboration, and innovation processes.

“The future belongs to AI-Native talent,” he remarked.

Dr. Mani Pavitra said India has the potential to emerge as the world’s largest creator economy and urged young people to combine AI with innovation, character, and execution to create solutions with global impact.

The transformation of EThames Business School reflects a growing recognition within higher education that AI literacy and AI-driven learning environments will play a critical role in preparing students for the future workforce.
