Young Man Dies by Suicide in Andhra Pradesh After Reported Dispute; Family in Shock

Anakapalli: A 23-year-old engineering graduate from Chodavaram in Andhra Pradesh’s Anakapalli district died by suicide after reportedly being distressed following a dispute with his girlfriend, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Lakkaraju Prashanth, a resident of Dwaraka Nagar in Chodavaram. According to family members, Prashanth had completed his B.Tech degree and was preparing for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), aspiring to pursue higher studies.
Family members alleged that Prashanth had been emotionally disturbed following a disagreement with his girlfriend. In a tragic turn of events, he allegedly hanged himself at his residence.
Prashanth’s father works as a carpenter, and the family had hoped that he would continue his education and build a successful career. Relatives, overcome with grief, said they were devastated by the loss, describing him as a bright young man with a promising future.
Police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident, shifted the body for post-mortem examination, and registered a case. An investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the death.
Authorities have urged people facing emotional distress to seek support from family, friends, or mental health professionals rather than suffering in silence.
