Abhimaan Deshpande of Sri Gayatri e-Techno School, Manikonda, and P. Karyasheel emerged champions in the Junior and Open categories respectively at the 241st Brilliant Trophy Chess Tournament held at Brilliant Grammar High School, Dilsukhnagar.

Hyderabad: Abhimaan Deshpande of Sri Gayatri e-Techno School, Manikonda, and P. Karyasheel emerged champions in the Junior and Open categories respectively at the 241st Brilliant Trophy Chess Tournament held at Brilliant Grammar High School, Dilsukhnagar.
In the Junior category, Abhimaan Deshpande delivered a flawless performance, securing the title with a perfect score of 6 points from 6 rounds. Ch. Sreecharan and Ivaan Jain shared the second and third positions, respectively, with 5 points each.
In the Open category, P. Karyasheel clinched the championship by scoring a perfect 6 out of 6 points. Sai Prudhvi Eati finished second with 5.5 points, while Kurella Dinesh Sai secured third place with 5 points from six rounds.
The top ten finishers in the Open category were: P. Karyasheel, Sai Prudhvi Eati, Kurella Dinesh Sai, Srikar J.V., Hemanth Seera, Shaik Mohammed Irfan, Seshum Dhanush, Lella Devaansh, Erukulla Anish, and M. Thriaansh Sai.

The tournament also featured age-category competitions. In the boys’ section, Y. Bharath and Mithil Amor won the Under-15 category, while Ch. Sreecharan and G. Ritish excelled in Under-13. Ivaan Jain and Avaneesh Gadipelli secured top positions in Under-11, while Gowtham Manchukonda and Mohammed Sahir Ahmed emerged winners in Under-9. In the Under-7 category, Rehansh Turai and Sulaniya Utkarsh claimed the top honours.
In the girls’ section, Karthika Ganji and Ch. Sanvitha topped the Under-15 category. Vedasruthi Chetla and K. Abhinandana were the leading performers in Under-13, while Tanishi Sharma and Rushika Bhaskar secured the top two places in Under-11. Advaitha Gadipelli and Ch. Shadgati emerged winners in Under-9, and Bhuvi Sreshta and Riddi Jaiswal excelled in the Under-7 category.
Nigama Sree was adjudged the Best Woman player, while C.S. Rao received the Best Veteran award.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from young chess players and enthusiasts, making it another successful edition of the Brilliant Trophy Chess Tournament.
