ACB traps lineman of TSSPDCL in bribery case

The sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have caught a lineman of TSSPDCL, Ieeja Mandal, in Jogulamba Gadwal District of Telangana red-handed when he was accepting a bribe amount of Rs 20,000.

Hyderabad: The sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have caught a lineman of TSSPDCL, Ieeja Mandal, in Jogulamba Gadwal District of Telangana red-handed when he was accepting a bribe amount of Rs 20,000.

On Monday, the Accused Officer (AO) Jeevarathnam was caught red-handed when he demanded and accepted a bribe amount of Rs 20,000 from the complainant, V. Veeresula Chary, of Devanagar Colony, in the same way as a reward “for having removed an electrical pole from the house plot of the complainant,” an ACB statement said here on Tuesday.

The tainted amount was recovered from the possession of the AO. Both hands of A.O. which came into contact with a tainted bribe amount, yielded positive results in chemical tests. The AO performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.

Therefore, AO was being arrested and produced before the First Addl. Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Nampally, Hyderabad.
