Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh polls: The BJP high command has released the first list of candidates for the Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh assembly elections. There are 21 candidates in Chhattisgarh and 39 candidates in Madhya Pradesh. This is the first list and most of the candidates’ names will be released in the later list.
BJP is preparing for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh assembly elections and today (Thursday) released the first list of candidates who will contest in these two states. The BJP high command has released the list of 39 candidates in Madhya Pradesh and 21 candidates in Chhattisgarh. There are also five women candidates in this list. A central BJP election committee meeting was held in Delhi yesterday, and the selection of candidates was discussed in this meeting.
The announcement came a day after BJP’s Central Election Committee reviewed the party’s election preparations in two states. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior party leaders.
According to sources, PM Modi has directed senior BJP officials to announce the first list of candidates at the earliest, so that there is enough time to work for the elections.
