Burj Khalifa becomes the first attraction in the UAE to accept UPI for online bookings. Indian travellers can now book tickets through the official website using UPI-enabled payment apps.

New Delhi: Indian travellers can now use the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) to make online bookings for At the Top, Burj Khalifa, with the iconic attraction becoming the first in the UAE to accept UPI for e-commerce transactions. The announcement was made on July 29 by NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL). The facility has been launched in partnership with NEOPAY and Emaar Entertainment, enabling Indian visitors to book tickets through the attraction’s official website before travelling to the UAE. The service is now available.

NIPL Launches UPI Payment Facility for Burj Khalifa
According to NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL), the international arm of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), the new payment facility has been introduced in partnership with NEOPAY and Emaar Entertainment.
The initiative allows Indian travellers to use UPI-enabled payment apps to book tickets and experiences for At the Top, Burj Khalifa through the attraction’s official website before arriving in the UAE.
Builds on Existing UPI Partnership in UAE
The company said the latest integration builds on NIPL’s existing partnership with NEOPAY.
According to the statement, since the introduction of QR code-based UPI merchant payments in the UAE in 2022, Indian travellers have been able to make UPI payments at merchants across NEOPAY’s network.
With the latest rollout, UPI acceptance has now been extended to online bookings.

NPCI International CEO Highlights Convenience
Ritesh Shukla, Managing Director and CEO of NPCI International, said:
“Indian travellers are increasingly seeking payment experiences that are simple, familiar and seamless when they travel abroad. By enabling UPI acceptance for online bookings at At the Top, Burj Khalifa, we are making it easier for them to use a payment method they know and trust while planning their visit, even before they arrive in the UAE.”
According to the company, the initiative addresses the growing demand for convenient and trusted cross-border digital payments while strengthening the digital payments bridge between India and the UAE.
NEOPAY Calls It a Milestone
Vibhor Mundhada, CEO of NEOPAY, said the integration marks a significant milestone in digital commerce between India and the UAE.
He added that the rollout makes NEOPAY the first company in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region to enable UPI acceptance for e-commerce transactions.
Emaar Entertainment Welcomes the Move
An Emaar Entertainment spokesperson said introducing UPI for online bookings will make the customer journey simpler and more convenient for Indian visitors.
The spokesperson noted that Indian travellers constitute one of the attraction’s largest international visitor segments.
