Case against K’taka BJP MLAs, others for raising ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans

A case has been filed against two Karnataka BJP MLAs and three others for allegedly threatening the administrative board of St Gerosa School here on Thursday.

Mangaluru: A case has been filed against two Karnataka BJP MLAs and three others for allegedly threatening the administrative board of St Gerosa School here on Thursday.

A complaint has been filed against MLAs Vedavyas Kamath of Mangaluru South legislative constituency, Bharat Shetty of Mangaluru North legislative constituency, and corporators Bharat and Sandeep Garodi.

The police booked them for allegedly raising slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ outside the school and making derogatory remarks against the Christian religion.

The accused held a protest outside the school, accusing Sr Prabha, a teacher at St Gerosa School in Valencia, of making derogatory remarks against Hindu deities during a class. In response, the school suspended Sr Prabha with immediate effect.

The complainant also accused them of allegedly inciting students to disobey the school’s rules, speaking against the school’s administrative board, and issuing threats. It also alleged that their actions were aimed at disturbing the peace, and harmony of Dakshina Kannada district.
