In the aftermath of the Indian cricket team’s defeat by Australia in the 2023 World Cup on November 19, a somber incident unfolded in Tirupati late on Sunday night. Jyotish Kumar Yadav (35), a dedicated cricket enthusiast and software engineer based in Bengaluru, succumbed to a heart attack in his hometown of Tirupati during the Deepavali holidays.
Yadav, visibly tense throughout the match as he witnessed India trailing against Australia, tragically collapsed after the conclusion of the game. He was rushed to the Sri Venkateswara Ramnarain Ruia Government General Hospital in Tirupati, where he was declared brought dead.
Expressing deep condolences, Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) Chairman Mohith Reddy paid a visit to Yadav’s residence in Durgasamudram village, situated in the Tirupati rural mandal falling under his Chandragiri constituency, on Monday. Chairman Reddy offered heartfelt tributes and extended all possible support to the grieving family on behalf of the State Government. The community mourns the loss of a passionate cricket supporter during what should have been a joyous festive season.
