Hyderabad: The city police apprehended a fake dental doctor and seized treatment equipment following a successful operation.
Acting on credible information, the Commissioner’s Task Force, South-East Zone Team, in collaboration with the staff of Shah Ali Banda Police Station, arrested Khaja Muzammil Uddin (29) from Falaknuma on Friday.
Muzammil Uddin was posing as a BDS Doctor, using a counterfeit BDS certificate from the Karnataka State Dental Council, and treating patients at Oxygen Dental Clinic, located opposite Nabeel Function Hall, Engine Bowli, Falaknuma, Hyderabad, within the jurisdiction of Shah-Ali-Banda Police station, according to a police statement released on Saturday.
During the investigation, Uddin admitted that he had failed his Intermediate examination in 2016 and subsequently joined Miswak Dental Hospital in Masab Tank, Hyderabad, as a dental assistant. He worked at the hospital from 2016 to 2020, where he acquired knowledge of dental treatments.
Later, he devised a plan to impersonate a dental doctor. In 2020, he obtained a fake BDS certificate from the Karnataka State Dental Council with the assistance of his friend, Syed Abdul Aslam, also known as Aslam.
Uddin then secured a position as a BDS Doctor at Oxygen Dental Clinic, presenting the forged BDS certificate from the Karnataka State Dental Council as genuine.
He treated patients under this false pretense, earning substantial sums of money. Consequently, he deceived the authorities of the hospital, as well as patients, by posing as a certified BDS Doctor.
Moreover, he acquired a Trade License from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and a Certificate from the Labor Department, exploiting the forged BDS Certificate from the Karnataka State Dental Council to defraud the governments of Telangana and Karnataka.
Based on Uddin’s information, Syed Abdul Aslam was also apprehended. During questioning, Aslam confessed that Uddin approached him in 2020, seeking a fake dental certificate. As per Uddin’s provided details, Aslam created a counterfeit BDS certificate from the Karnataka State Dental Council in Uddin’s name using the RE-TOUCH Mobile Application and Add Text Mobile Application. Subsequently, Aslam handed over the fabricated certificate to Uddin.
Both individuals have been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway.
