Hyderabad: A major fire broke out late Monday night in a row of furniture shops in the Bachupally area of Medchal-Malkajgiri district, causing extensive property damage but no loss of life.

Upon receiving the alert, police personnel and six fire engines rushed to the spot and managed to bring the blaze under control after a prolonged operation.
