Food Safety Raid in Chandrayangutta: Two Cases Registered Over Substandard Fast Food Violations

During the enforcement drive, officials inspected Al Madina Chinese Fast Food Centre and Omar Chinese Fast Food Centre, where serious food safety violations were detected. Authorities registered two cases and detained three individuals in connection with the violations.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Food Adulteration Surveillance Team (H-FAST), in coordination with the GHMC Food Safety Officer, conducted a special inspection at fast food outlets in Chandrayangutta, uncovering multiple violations of food safety regulations.

During the enforcement drive, officials inspected Al Madina Chinese Fast Food Centre and Omar Chinese Fast Food Centre, where serious food safety violations were detected. Authorities registered two cases and detained three individuals in connection with the violations.

According to officials, the inspections revealed that food was being prepared in unhygienic conditions. The team also found evidence of the repeated use of cooking oil, the use of artificial food colours, the absence of pest control records, and failure to maintain mandatory hygiene and sanitation standards.

During the raid, officials seized 20 litres of used cooking oil, 10 litres of fresh cooking oil, around 40 kilograms of fried chicken, 40 kilograms of raw chicken allegedly mixed with artificial colouring, and three containers and six packets of artificial and chemical food colours.

All seized materials have been handed over to the Station House Officer (SHO) of Chandrayangutta Police Station for further legal action.

Food Safety officials stated that such enforcement drives will continue across Hyderabad to curb the sale of adulterated and substandard food products and to ensure the safety and well-being of consumers. They warned that strict action would be taken against establishments found violating food safety regulations.
