Hyderabad: The Tank Bund area, bustling with midnight birthday festivities, is expected to quiet down soon as authorities crack down on cake cutting near Hussain Sagar.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has installed eight boards along PVNR Marg, spaced about a hundred meters apart, outlining strict cleanliness rules for the lake. These boards, with bold red lettering, emphatically state “Cake cutting prohibited on Tank Bund. Do not litter here. Penalties will be imposed. You are under surveillance of CCTV cameras,” and serve as a reminder of the presence of around 300 CCTV cameras monitoring this popular tourist destination.
Alongside birthday celebrations, these signs also caution against leaving plastic wrappers or leftover cakes on the benches.
