Hyderabad: KIMS Hospitals in Secunderabad successfully hosted the Clinical Rheumatology Conference 2026 (CRC2026) on 3rd and 4th January, drawing over 400 rheumatologists from across India. The biannual conference, the world’s first case-based rheumatology event, focused on sharing practical approaches to managing complex rheumatologic conditions.
Dr. Bollineni Bhaskara Rao, Chairman of KIMS Hospitals, emphasized the importance of staying updated with global advancements in the treatment of rheumatology disorders such as arthritis, osteoarthritis, lupus, and autoimmune diseases. Addressing the concluding session, he encouraged practitioners to adopt new treatment methods to improve patient care.

The inauguration was attended by notable figures including Dr. B. Bhaskara Rao (CMD, KIMS Hospitals), Dr. Sambit Sahu (Medical Director, KIMS Hospitals), Dr. B. Srinivas (Deputy Director General, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India), Dr. Vinod (President-Elect, IRA), Dr. Sarath Chandra Mouli (Clinical Director, Rheumatology, KIMS Hospitals), and Dr. D. Rajkiran (Director, Hyderabad Rheumatology Centre).
The conference featured in-depth case-based discussions on challenging conditions, including Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Gout, Vasculitis, Childhood Arthritis, and other rare rheumatic disorders. Participants also engaged in a rheumatology quiz for trainees and an image competition, adding an interactive and creative element to the event.
A total of 269 case abstracts were submitted from across India, with the most significant cases discussed in detail during the sessions. The conference provided a platform for sharing knowledge, exploring novel treatment strategies, and strengthening professional networks among rheumatologists.
