Hyderabad: Smoke engulfs Howrah Express at Warangal; creates panic among passengers


Hyderabad: At noon today, smoke abruptly engulfed several compartments of the Howrah Express traveling from Hyderabad to Howrah via Vijayawada.

Alarmed passengers pulled the emergency chain, swiftly disembarked, and fled in fear.

This incident occurred near Nekonda in the Warangal district of Telangana. The smoke affected a number of carriages, prompting the train to halt in an isolated area near the Nikonda railway station.

The train’s crew conducted a thorough assessment and promptly informed higher authorities.
