Starting from December 1, Malaysia will offer visa-free entry to citizens of China and India for up to 30 days, as announced by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim during his People’s Justice Party congress on Sunday.
The visa exemptions, valid until December 31, 2024, aim to boost tourism from these countries, which currently rank as Malaysia’s fourth- and fifth-largest sources of tourists.
The move follows similar measures implemented by other Asian countries, including China granting visa-free entry to Malaysians and several European nations.
Thailand, heavily reliant on tourism, has also exempted Chinese and Indian nationals, among others.
