Beirut: At least 13 people have been injured in an Israeli airstrike on the southern Lebanese town of Kfar Rumman, Al Jazeera broadcaster reported, citing Lebanon’s Health Ministry.

The attack reportedly occurred near a building where those injured were located.

On Friday, the Lebanese Health Ministry’s emergency operations center said that an Israeli drone had struck a building in the settlement of Ahmadieh in southern Lebanon, resulting in one death and four injuries.

The situation on the Israeli-Lebanese border escalated after Israel started hostilities in the Gaza Strip in October 2023.

The Israel Defense Forces and Lebanese movement Hezbollah conduct attacks almost daily on each other’s positions in areas along the border.
