Accident Occurred Near Jevargi Town

The accident took place near Nelogi Cross, close to Jevargi town. The mini-bus, carrying 31 passengers, was en route to the famous Khwaja Bande Nawaz Dargah in Kalaburagi city.

Victims Identified

The deceased have been identified as:

  • Wajid
  • Mehaboobi
  • Priyanka
  • Mehaboob
  • One individual whose identity is yet to be confirmed

All the victims hailed from the Navanagara locality in Bagalkot district.

Injured Shifted to Hospital

The 11 injured passengers were immediately shifted to the Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) for medical treatment.

Police Investigation Underway

The Nelogi police rushed to the scene and have launched an investigation into the incident. The exact cause of the collision is still under investigation.

In another tragic incident, four individuals were killed on Thursday when their car was struck by a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) Airavat luxury bus on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway.

Accident at Tubinakere Village Near Mandya

The crash occurred near the highway exit at Tubinakere village, close to Mandya city. According to police reports, the car, while exiting to the service road, suddenly veered back onto the highway and was hit from behind by the speeding bus.

Victims of the Crash

The deceased were identified as:

  • Satyananda Raje Urs (51)
  • Nischita (45, his wife)
  • Chandru (62)
  • Suvedini Rani (50, Chandru’s wife)

Severe Impact and Response

Police stated the impact of the collision was so severe that the car was completely mangled, killing all four occupants on the spot. Authorities used a crane to extract the car from underneath the bus before retrieving the bodies. The bodies were taken to a nearby hospital mortuary.

Traffic Disruption

The accident caused a significant traffic jam on the busy expressway, adding to the chaos as emergency services worked to clear the scene.
