Amid the confrontation, police reportedly detained and arrested KTR along with several other BRS MLAs and MLCs.

The BRS leaders strongly objected to the police action, questioning why elected representatives were being prevented from entering the Assembly over their choice of clothing. The party maintained that wearing black was a form of protest and accused the authorities of attempting to suppress the opposition’s voice.

The incident has further intensified political tensions between the ruling Congress and the BRS, with the latter criticising the police action against its legislators.

Further details regarding the number of leaders detained and the subsequent developments are awaited.
