Mamata Banerjee Accuses Election Commission
During the press conference, Mamata Banerjee made strong allegations against the Election Commission of India, stating:
“The Election Commission of India is the main villain.”
She further alleged:
“The BJP won the West Bengal elections because of conspiracies. The EC has become an agent of the BJP.”
Claims of Seat Manipulation and Refusal to Resign
Mamata Banerjee claimed:
“More than 100 seats have been looted and I have not lost the election. Therefore, there is no question of me resigning. I will not go to Raj Bhavan and no one can force me to resign.”
She reiterated that she does not accept the election outcome and will not step down.
Allegations on EVMs and Poll Conduct
Raising concerns about voting machines and election procedures, she said:
“The Chief Election Commissioner was the villain in this election. EVMs were looted in Bengal.”
She questioned:
“Why do EVMs have more than 80 to 90 per cent battery even after polling is over?”
She also alleged that:
- Authorities raided TMC before polls and arrested party activists two days prior
- Irregularities took place during the election process
Bhawanipur Result and Violence Allegations
Referring to her defeat in Bhawanipur, Mamata Banerjee stated:
“I was deliberately defeated in Bhawanipur as per a plan and the BJP won by misusing the Election Commission and I have never seen such an election in my life.”
She further alleged:
- TMC workers were beaten at counting centres
- She was thrown out of the counting centre by “CRPF goons”
She also claimed:
- 90 lakh votes were removed from SIR
- 32 lakh votes were added after going to court
Support from ‘Indie’ Alliance Leaders
Mamata Banerjee said that leaders from the ‘Indie’ alliance extended support to her after the election results.
She stated:
- Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi spoke to her
- Akhilesh Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, and Hemant Soren called her and expressed support
She confirmed that she will continue to remain part of the ‘Indie’ alliance.
