Man held for assaulting minor in Delhi
The police said on Thursday that the 32-year-old man, identified as Rahul was arrested in the Badarpur area of South East Delhi.
New Delhi: The Delhi Police have arrested a man for sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl here.
The police said on Thursday that the 32-year-old man, identified as Rahul was arrested in the Badarpur area of South East Delhi.
Both the victim and the accused used to live in a rented accommodation in Badarpur. The accused came to live in the area a few days back.
A senior police official said that on Wednesday an information was received at the police station Badarpur regarding the rape of a minor girl around 3 p.m. The case was reported from Molarband Extn area. The staff immediately rushed to the spot. The vicitm along with her mother was sent to AIIMS hospital for medical assistance.
“As per the version of mother of victim, the accused Rahul, who resides in their locality committed rape upon the minor girl and ran away,” said the official.
Immediately, four teams of PS Badarpur were formed to conduct raid at the likely whereabouts of the accused.
“With the help of technical surveillance, the accused was arrested last night from village Baminikhera, Distt Palwal, Haryana from his aunt’s house. The accused Rahul is labour class addicted to drugs,” said the police official.
A case under sections 376/342/323 IPC and 6 POCSO Act has been registered in this respect. Further probe in the matter is on.
