Hyderabad: The City-based Muslim organization Tahreek Muslim Shabban has officially expressed its endorsement of the Indian National Congress in the upcoming 2023 Telangana Elections.
In a press release, the organization stated that it presented a “Charter of Demands of Muslims of Telangana,” consisting of 13 points, to various political parties in Telangana.
Subsequently, leaders from the Telangana Congress, including Manikrao Thakre and Mansoor Ali Khan, engaged in discussions with the organization regarding the issues outlined in the charter.
However, the organization clarified that it will not be supporting the national party in six constituencies within the state: Bodhan, Bahadurpura, Yakutpura, Chandrangutta, Goshamahal, and Charminar. The statement specified that in Goshamahal, the organization’s objective is to “defeat hatred” and the “BJP candidate involved in blasphemy,” referring to the incumbent MLA T Raja Singh. Singh had previously stirred controversy by echoing comments against Prophet Mohammed made by the then BJP national spokesperson Nupur Sharma in a video.
