Hyderabad: There are no structural defects in the Kaleswaram project, Telangana Engineer-in-Chief (ENC) Muralidhar said.

Muralidhar along with engineering officials called on the Central team members here on Wednesday and explained to them the technical aspects of the Kaleswaram Lift Irrigation Project.

The Central team led by National Dam Safety Authority Chairman Anil Jain has been in Telangana following the small portion of the bridge of the Lakshmi (Medigadda) barrage of KLIP in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district caved in on October 21.

Speaking on the occasion, Telangana ENC Muralidhar made it clear that there were no structural defects in the Kaleshwaram project.

He said that due to some quality of sand and construction, the small portion of the bridge has caved in, but there is no structural defect in the project.

The ENC further said that they will conduct a comprehensive inspection of the copper dam in November after the flood subsides.
