Only strong regional political forces can halt BJP, asserts KTR

Hyderabad: Former Minister and BRS working president K T Rama Rao (KTR) on Saturday emphasised that only robust regional political forces possess the capability to impede the BJP’s progress.
Taking to Twitter, KTR agreed with Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee’s remarks about the Congress party. Banerjee suggested that if the Congress party has the resources, it should contest and secure victory in Varanasi, stating that the Congress is unlikely to retain its 40 seats this time.
KTR attributed the weakening of the India Alliance to the Congress Party’s approach, emphasizing the need for introspection. He criticized the Congress for diverting its focus from direct competition with the BJP in crucial states like Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, opting instead to compete with other parties in different states. KTR warned that this strategy would benefit the BJP while sabotaging the chances of the All India Alliance parties to succeed.
In KTR’s view, only influential regional political leaders such as Mamata Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal, Stalin, and KCR have the potential to counter the BJP’s influence in the country. He asserted that the Congress is not a viable alternative to the BJP.
