Hyderabad: Two persons have been arrested so far in connection with firing incident at AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s car in Meerut.
The accused of the case, Sachin and Shubham, were miffed over Owaisi’s speeches, reported India Today with reference to sources in the police.
It was revealed that, the accused were planning to attack the leader for some time. For that reason, they used to attend almost every public rally by Owaisi including his poll rally in Meerut on Thursday after which the attack was made.
Though they were chasing Owaisi for the past several days but didn’t get the chance to attack him until Thursday. For the purpose, Sachin had bought a country-made pistol only a few days ago.
According to the police officials interrogating the accused, they were ideologically radicalised and eccentric in nature.
While Sachin, one of the accused, confessed he was very angry with the speeches of Asaduddin Owaisi and his Akbaruddin, both the accused blamed Owaisi brothers for offending their faith.
Owaisi’s car was fired at when it stopped at the toll while he was returning from Meerut to Delhi.
