Panel Falls at the Terminal at Hyderabad Airport; Close Shave for Passenger

Hyderabad: In a recent incident at Hyderabad Airport, authorities have reported that a panel joint within the terminal became loose, leading to a panel falling while travelers were passing through the area after completing security checks and heading to their boarding gates.

The issue was identified during routine cleaning and maintenance, prompting immediate inspections of all panels. Officials are taking measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future.

Shashi Dharan, the managing director of Bharat Exhibitions based in Delhi, had a close encounter with the fallen panel. Taking to social media platform X, he expressed gratitude that no harm came to him but raised concerns about the response from the airport management.

“@RGIAHyd thanks god nothing happened to me at Hyderabad airport, but no one came from GMR. It’s almost 10 minutes; I am waiting after informing them,” Shashi shared.

Describing the fallen object as sharp and potentially dangerous, Shashi emphasized his primary concern regarding the delayed arrival of the Quick Response Team (QRT) to the scene. “It took nearly 15 minutes for the QRT to arrive. I lodged a complaint with them regarding the incident, and they assured me that they would investigate,” he added.

Shashi, who was returning to the capital on a Vistara flight, highlights the need for prompt and efficient response protocols to ensure passenger safety in such situations. Authorities are expected to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
